The Team
Dr Helen Myatt
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and have been working clinically for more than twenty years.
After completing a first degree in Psychology and Communication (Bsc Hons), at at the University of Wales, Institute Cardiff, and working in London and the West Midlands as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist, I completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with the Universities of Coventry and Warwick, with associated training posts in Worcestershire and Shropshire.
I then completed additional training in some therapeutic approaches, including Systemic Psychotherapy which focuses on how the relationships around a person construct their personal reality. I am particularly interested in life stage transitions and work with clients of all ages. I have also completed additional training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), which is used to work with complex trauma.
More recently used my existing knowledge and skills to complete formal training as in Performance Coach, achieving certification in Coaching Psychology with the Coaching Centre, approved by British Psychological Society (BPS) and recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
I have worked in the voluntary sector, NHS and as an Independent Practitioner. In independent practice I work with adults, older children and families in relation to a range of psychological needs.
I am also trained in Expert Witness work, working primarily in field of child protection work and I have carried out medico-legal reports in the past.

I have additional training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Personal Construct Therapy (PCT). Charlotte Griffiths Video Interactive Guidance Practitioner
Charlotte Griffiths Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) Practitioner I am an accredited Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) practitioner with a post graduate certificate in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). VIG is a therapeutic intervention which has a strong evidence base. It supports parents who are finding their child’s behaviour difficult or are experiencing challenges in this relationship, particularly with bonding in the early years. Historical difficulties with bonding in the early years can also cause problems in family relationships with older children. I started working in the NHS as a Community Midwife, before completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing for children aged 5-19 years old. I currently work in Children’s Mental Health Services within in the NHS. I have a great deal of experience in working with children of all ages and their families, with a particular interest in relationships between parents and very young children. I am now able to expand my practice outside of the NHS and offer VIG through private practice.
